BRIC Report: Rebounding From the Global Financial Crisis (511Kb)

The view in 2008 was that a recession in the U.S., the world’s largest consumer country, would cause a dramatic slowdown in growth in countries around the world. While the BRIC countries have experienced a slowdown in 2009, it appears as a blip in the rapid growth trajectory of the four BRICs. China and India are expected to continue to grow in 2009, with China expected to grow 6-8% and India up 5.5%. Brazil and Russia may experience a contraction in growth in 2009, with a return to growth in 2010.
